The Root & Rise Reset begins next week, and I am taking this week to prepare. Preparation is what allows this experience to feel intentional rather than rushed. It’s the bridge between knowing you want to make a change and actually taking the step.

This isn’t just about buying ingredients or clearing out a cupboard. Preparation is about creating space in my life to truly nourish myself. It’s about deciding, right now, that I am worth the time and effort it takes to feel better.

For me, that decision is showing up in simple, real ways. One of them is learning to take time again. Somewhere over the past few years, I slipped into the habit of skipping lunch. I’d let the day sweep me up, work, errands, kids, endless to-do lists, and I’d push through, telling myself I’d eat later. Later rarely came. By evening, I would be running on fumes, and snacking while trying to intentionally create a nourishing family meal, often feeling depleted and frustrated.

This week, I am changing that. I’ve made a big pot of nourishing bone broth and filled it with vegetables. I’ve stocked up on fresh produce, prepped a few easy snacks, and, most importantly, I’ve given myself permission to stop and eat in the middle of the day. Sitting down to lunch may not sound like much, but for me, it’s an act of self-respect. It’s how I remind my body that it matters, that I matter.

If you’re preparing to join the Root & Rise Reset, I encourage you to think about what preparation means for you. Maybe it’s as simple as making one good meal ahead of time so you know you’ll have something nourishing when you need it. Maybe it’s going through your pantry and setting aside the things that no longer serve you. Maybe it’s journaling about what you hope to gain from these six weeks, clarity, energy, balance, connection.

Whatever preparation looks like for you, know that it is powerful. Small steps taken now create momentum. They build confidence. They make the first day of this journey feel like a continuation of something you’ve already started, not a daunting leap into the unknown.

I’d love to walk this path with you. Join me in the Root & Rise: A 6-Week Reset Facebook group where we’re sharing our preparations, cheering each other on, and building the kind of support that makes real change possible.

This week, I am preparing my kitchen. I am preparing my body. But more than that, I am preparing my heart and mind to show up for myself. Let’s do this together.
