As a mother of four wonderful children and a spiritualist, I know firsthand the challenges of raising children to be connected spiritually. In my journey as a mother, I have learned that instilling a sense of spiritual awareness and connection is just as important as ensuring their physical and mental well-being.
Growing up in an Anglican family, my own spiritual path has taken me on a journey that led me to become a druid and mystic. I believe in the power of nature, the interconnectedness of all living beings, and the existence of spiritual guides and energies.
Incorporating these beliefs into my children’s upbringing has not always been easy. While I have tried to create an environment that fosters spiritual growth and exploration, there have been times when my own doubts and uncertainties have made it challenging to guide my children on their spiritual journey.
But through it all, I have learned that the most important thing is to lead by example. By embodying the principles and beliefs that I hold dear, I am able to create an environment where my children feel safe to explore and connect with their own spirituality.
I also recognize that each of my children may have their own unique spiritual path and beliefs, and that is okay. My role as a mother is to support and guide them in their journey, and to provide a foundation of love and acceptance no matter what path they choose to follow.
Being a mother is incredibly rewarding. Seeing my children grow and connect with their own spirituality brings me immense joy and reminds me of the beauty and power of the human spirit.
As a spiritualist, I believe that we are all connected to a higher power and that this connection can bring great meaning and purpose to our lives. I also believe that this connection can be nurtured and strengthened through various spiritual practices such as meditation, prayer, and ritual.
As a mother, I have found that raising my children to be connected spiritually has its own unique set of challenges. It can be difficult to balance the demands of everyday life with the need to prioritize spiritual practices and teachings. It can also be a challenge to find the right balance between giving my children the freedom to explore their own beliefs and instilling in them a strong foundation of spiritual values.
By prioritizing my own spiritual practices and teachings, I am able to model the importance of spiritual connection to my children. I also make a point to involve my children in spiritual practices and rituals, giving them the opportunity to explore and connect in their own way.
Another important aspect of raising spiritually connected children is creating a sense of community. Whether it is through attending spiritual events and gatherings or creating our own family rituals, having a sense of community and connection to like-minded individuals can provide a sense of support and guidance.
I also introduced my children to the practice of Reiki, which is a form of energy healing that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I taught them how to channel this healing energy and use it to promote balance and harmony within themselves and others. Seeing them develop their own unique connection to Reiki and learning how to use it to help others has been a truly rewarding experience for me as a mother. It’s important to me that my children have the tools and knowledge to connect with their spirituality and to use it to help themselves and others.
Creating child-friendly and fun rituals is an important aspect of raising spiritually connected children. It not only helps them feel included in your spiritual practices but also helps them develop a positive attitude towards spirituality. Rituals can be as simple as lighting a candle together, singing a favourite song, or taking a walk in nature. Children love to use their imaginations, so encouraging them to visualize positive affirmations or positive outcomes during the ritual can also be beneficial. Remember, the goal is to create a joyful and meaningful experience that your children will look forward to and cherish as they continue on their spiritual journey.
Writing songs together for feasts and celebrations can be a wonderful way to connect with your children on a spiritual level. It allows for creativity and self-expression while also instilling a sense of community and togetherness. Encouraging your children to write and sing their own songs for special occasions can also help them tap into their inner voice and connect with their intuition. Plus, it can be a fun and memorable way to celebrate and honour the traditions and beliefs that are important to your family.
I believe that raising spiritually connected children is about fostering a sense of openness, curiosity, and wonder about the world around us. By instilling in them a love and appreciation for the beauty and interconnectedness of all things, we can help our children to develop a deep and meaningful spiritual connection that will serve them well throughout their lives.
